Asia Day 3: Yongsan and Dongdaemun

7/18/12

My camera loves to make all my pictures blurry. I don't understand how I can take pictures that are crystal clear while driving in a car, but when I stop, and balance my camera it turns out blurry. = =

We went to I'Park Mall- a mall in Yongsan station that is quite confusing as it seems to have an endless amount of floors (like Indonesian malls). We had some iced tea to cool ourselves off as it was very humid (as it was our whole entire stay).

Holly's Coffee seems to be a cafe chain in Korea... sort of like how America has fast food chains, Korea has cafe chains. Oh, and iced peach tea again!

There was a pets section with this cool glass cage.

These kittens were so tiny and adorable. I find it funny that in the next glass room there's this big pit bull that wanted to get into their room.
All of the dogs (except for the pit bull) were tiny.

So cute ;A;

Outside Yongsan Station
Inside I'Park Mall there's a bookstore which sells a lot of CDs, so if you have trouble communicating or just want to browse CDs, it's a good idea to go here- none of the employees (the two that I saw in the very big bookstore) bothered us at all.
A picture of Itaewon. I wanted to walk around, but we didn't have time.

Learning from yesterday, I took much better pictures of Namsan tower when we passed by it.

On our way to Dongdaemun I had this amazing fried thing. I forget what was inside it, but it was delicious.

We went to eat at some place near Dongdaemun (which I forgot, of course = =), but I was full from that delicious fried thing pictured above (thankfully- the place we went to had a lot of restaurants but none were very appealing in my opinion) and decided to just go with a crepe. Which was very, very big. They put a mini slice of cheesecake in it! I love crepes. And of course my camera decided to be blur my picture again, I do apologize.

We went to Dongdaemun's fashion district, and they had tons of clothes ranging from hipster-esque to dolly Japanese style shirts with frills- the prices ranging from 5000-25000 won. You can bargain (my mom managed to get 3000 off the shirt I got), but it is a bit difficult. My sister loves this place because of all the clothes they have (she likes clothes and shoes just as much as I like makeup). Obviously forgetful me forgot to take pictures, but you can google search dongdaemun fashion market and see what it looks like. If you've been to Manggadua (for those of you who live in Indonesia or have been to Manggadua), it's like that. Except with just clothes (as far as I could see), less crowded, more quiet, and cleaner. A lot cleaner.

A picture my mom forced me to take since we didn't stop here (this was our last day in Seoul).

Sprite- it was so humid in Seoul! And rainy. After the first day where I made the mistake of wearing a full face of makeup I cut down to just my base makeup, blush, some mascara and lip tint. I felt so gross the first day wearing a lot of makeup (a lot for me) because of the humidity. All the Korean girls were so pretty, skinny, and sweat-free which did not help my case. But really, how do they all look perfect in this humidity?! And wear high heels and mini-skirts in the rain and walk everywhere?! Insane. * *

Went back to our hotel to rest up. All of us were exhausted and jet lagged and it wasn't even 4pm.

More damage. SNSD's Genie album is their only album that I like every single song on it. And I loved the concept :p (Into the New World will always be my favorite song from them, but the other songs on their debut album weren't to my taste). EXO-M CD, and Younha's Supersonic album. If you have not listened to Run yet, go do so right now. Actually, just listen to the whole entire album, she is amazing. You won't regret it, I swear.

My Etude House Sun BB pact- I tried it out for the first time that day because it has SPF 50, is incredibly cute and I am curious in anything that will help me not gain 10 freckles or turn a shade darker (I tan and freckle easily... and I'm not pale = = I blame my dad, who is not pale but is literally covered in freckles. Everywhere.). It worked very well in the humid Seoul weather. I used this in China (we were going on the Great Wall and it was really sunny) and it caked up because we were far away from the ocean (the closer you are the the ocean the less dry it is, trust me).

Another picture from our large hotel window. Everyone in my family hates looking through these windows because they're scared of falling whereas I just plaster myself (not literally because it's a window and who knows who's been on that) it and my mom yells at me to get away. Funny that I like to do that and refuse to go on roller coasters. :p

I sorta had sushi for dinner that night. I ordered a set without knowing there was wasabi. And so I just took the fish, wiped it, and ate the fish. I wasn't that hungry, so eh. We ordered it to go, and they gave us this ice pack. They were also about to put it in this big padded foil box, but my mom stopped them. The soy sauce was in this adorable fish squirter that I did not take a picture of (again).

We walked back to our hotel.

Every night they have this lovely trio playing music.

To make up for dinner I had this good tiramisu

I was incredibly stupid and thought this was made of chocolate and bit into it to find out that it was cardboard. I also thought the cup was chocolate after I ate the cake and bit into it to find out it was plastic.

Banana milk! I like the Lotte one a lot more though. They were only sold in packs of six where I was buying milk (in Family mart they have single ones) so I settled for this.

Then I went to bed.

And that's it for our last day in Seoul!
