Storm

So over here on the east coast there was a really bad storm.

The power went off at our house at around... 10:30pm-ish, the power went out, and it was really scary with the trees practically banging against the house and the wind blowing really fast (apparently 55 mph!).

The next morning we were still with no power, so we got a room, went back to our house to get our things (still no power) and checked in. Stuck in a small hotel room with 3 other people is not very pleasant, but better than dying in the heat at our house.

Pretty sure the power won't be back by tomorrow either. It may take up to two weeks (probably be gone to Asia by then but)

I live in a very forest-y area, so when we went out to get breakfast this morning there were huge, sturdy trees uprooted. The whole tree, yes. I'm quite thankful because there are so many large trees (just as large as the ones that toppled over) and something could've flown out and hit our house. I'm actually quite surprised that nothing got uprooted other than a few flowers and part of a tree.

So basically we ran around today trying to find a hotel to stay at, but they were all full, so at the last hotel we looked for we went onto the computer there and booked a room where we're staying at now. We'll definitely be here another day.

My dad was actually gone until he came back tonight (from a business trip in CA), so I, the now self-proclaimed son (... daughter?) of the house did a shit ton of things. I burned myself with candle wax (while carrying them) twice last night and lifted a garage door today. Despite now being scared of touching anything hot (even if it is bearable), I'm quite proud of myself.


That's about it. I'm exhausted from running around everywhere. ㅠ ㅠ I really want to go home. ;A;
